It was a privilege to return to one of Colombia’s great cities Cartagena for Michelle & Neil’s fabulous destination wedding. It truly is a magical city and this wedding captivated all that magic. Michelle and Neil tended to every detail in planning what turned out to be a dream wedding! This couple went above and beyond to make this wedding one for the books tending to every guests needs. What a blast their friends and family had during this action packed, non-stop five day wedding which included a fabulous rehearsal dinner in the heart of Cartagena’s old city, a remote island excursion, an oceanside ceremony at the Cartagena Hilton, non-stop out-of-this world food, world famous drinks and unbelievable entertainment.

As some of you may remember from my previous wedding in Colombia the dancing kicked into high gear around 2 AM with the start of the ‘La Hora Loca’ (Crazy Hour) a non-stop hour of dancing.

Here are the true diehards, they were still going at 5 AM!

Michelle & Neil may you have a lifetime of happiness. Special thanks to the entire Haim family for all their hospitality.

Annie & David’s Key West Wedding
Featured in the Fall/Winter Edition of The Knot Magazine

Annie and David have a mutual friend to thank for “putting them in the same room” as the couple likes to say, during a Christmas party in 2006. It didn’t take an outside introduction for Annie and David to catch each other’s interest. By the end of the night, David was serenading Annie at a karaoke bar, and the rest is history. “We were pretty much in love,” says Annie of their first meeting. “We are truly the most perfect people for each other.”
The Bride Annie Mennes, an architect
The Groom David Minkin, an online publisher
The Date November 8
One year later, Annie was heading to Ohio for Christmas to see her family and David dropped by Annie’s apartment to deliver her gift. When he handed her a large box, Annie immediately noticed how light it was but tried not to get too excited. After digging through layers of ribbon, gift-wrap and tissue paper, she finally came across a small ring box. As soon as the box touched Annie’s hand, David popped the question — almost exactly a year after he hit just the right note at the Christmas party. Even though they live in New York, the couple decided to marry in Key West because Annie spent much of her life there and always loved the city’s “great attitude about life.” She combined fall colors with the spirit of Key West with a green, orange and espresso palette.

I waited, waited for the LORD;
who bent down and heard my cry,
Drew me out of the pit of destruction,
out of the mud of the swamp,
Set my feet upon rock, steadied my steps,
And put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn to our God.
Many shall look on in awe and they shall trust in the LORD.
Psalm 40 2:4

This past weekend I had the pleasure of documenting Amy & Mike’s fabulous destination wedding in Naples, Florida. Amy & Mike were blessed with a picture perfect day and the perfect venue for their special day. The Lake Lodge at The Quarry in Naples is absolutely stunning and one of a kind. I still recall the day Amy first called and asked me to shoot their engagement session, I immediately felt like I had know her all my life. The special bond these two have is truly remarkable and the special place God has in their lives is sure to carry them through a lifetime. At the wedding I asked Amy how she had found me, she said “I had been praying on it for some time and then I came across your site” I was blown away, what a blessing!

Amy & Mike hope you enjoy Jamaica and have a lifetime of happiness thank you for all your hospitality!

This past weekend I had an unbelievable time photographing Paula & David’s destination wedding in Cartagena Colombia. It was awesome to see their dream wedding become a reality. After many months of planning together with their closest friends and family they said their vows and exchanged rings at Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo in the center of Cartagena’s old city. Following the ceremony Paula, David and all of their guests took a stroll through the old city to the sounds of live music. We ended the walk at Casa Quero where the music and dancing continued till sunrise!

Personal Favorite!

Following the Vallenato at 1 AM the dancing really kicked into high gear with the the start of ‘La Hora Loca’ (Crazy Hour) a non-stop hour of fast paced, high energy carnival like atmosphere. It was awesome!

Paula & David thank you for making us a part of your wedding and best of all for making Becker, Rodrigo and I feel at home. And finally major thanks to Becker and Rodrigo for coming out to Cartagena with me for this awesome wedding. I am grateful for la boda de Paula y David and looking forward to my next wedding in Cartagena in a few weeks.
Rehearsal Dinner: Sibaris (Best Paella I have ever had!)
Ceremony: Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo
Venue: Casa Quero
Catering: Adriana Santos
Music and Lighting: Playa Producciones
Flowers: William Baena

Fun Facts
Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo opened October 7, 1736. For those of you that are Formula 1 and NASCAR fans this is the same church Juan Pablo Montoya and Connie Freydell were married at in 2002.
