As most digital photographers know any optimization possible in your workflow is key to improving the overall efficiency of your business. When Apple first announced Aperture 1.0 back in 2005 I pre-ordered it from the Apple Store that same day, along with a hot new PowerMac. At the time it was $499 and it helped redefine the standard for my digital workflow. Since then Adobe has come on strong with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Apple has dramatically lowered the retail price. I must admit the wait has been painful however today is like Christmas in February for any photographer that depends on Aperture. Apple today officially unveiled version 2.0, the biggest revision to Aperture since its original release featuring over 100 new features. You can download a 30 day trial or order your copy online at the Apple Store. Looks like I will be paying a visit to the local Apple Store today. ![]()
Also, I was so pumped up when Aperture was first released I setup a mailing list for all things Aperture. Be sure to check out the Aperture Users website and signup today!

Am definitely interested to see how 2.0 goes - though I’m not yet very acquainted with the original. I’ll be by to hear your reviews. : )
