Kiva – Help Change the World

Several weeks ago I came across the website for Kiva. In their own words….”Kiva lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can “sponsor a business” and help the world’s working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you’ve sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back.”This is absolutely one of the most incredible ways to help others that I have seen in a long time. I am a firm believer in the human will to succeed. The entrepreneurial spirit in every human is one of the most powerful motivators in human life. Through Kiva we all have an opportunity to help an aspiring entrepreneur in a third world country realize a once in a lifetime dream. These entrepreneurs are looking for loans between $600 and $1,200 and YOU can help with as little as $25. Imagine that, these people are looking for $600 to fund a business or expand an existing business. For those of us who are photographers that is less than half the cost of a lenses.I encourage all of you to take a moment and help someone in need. For as little as $25 you can help change the world.
